Vapes contain nicotine as well as some admittedly nice flavours as I've accidentally walked through a few vape clouds in my time. But where does that nicotine come from? Wikipedia says it's extracted from tobacco. That it's "produced in a variety of plants in the family Solanaceae, most notably in tobacco Nicotiana tabacum, where it can be found at high concentrations of 0.5 to 7.5%." So there's an energy cost in doing that, and an awful lot of waste to boot.
So why oh why does Scotland Gov endorse EU membership and the centralisation of subsidies policies and protections to farmland owners in the hotter places in Europe where this tobacco stuff gets grown admittedly in smaller amounts. Banning something you approve of subsidising makes no sense. Imv of course.
What fun it will be at the England Scotland border if the Scottish loons go down this path!
